Overwatch 2 Support Tier List for Ranked Role Queue

Written from the hero roster and balance as known up to late 2025; balance patches move tiers and heroes released since then are not ranked here, so check the current patch notes before treating any placement as final.

A support tier list is only useful if you know what it measures. This one ranks supports for 5v5 ranked Role Queue, where two supports share one tank, and it rewards heroes that win fights on their own initiative rather than heroes that simply top the healing column. Use the tier table to narrow your pool, then the bracket, composition and pairing sections to choose between heroes of similar strength.

How the tiers were judged

Each hero was weighed against five questions, in this order of importance:

  1. Fight-winning utility. Does the kit do something healing cannot: deny healing, cleanse, speed a team up, make a target die faster?
  2. Self-sufficiency. Can the hero survive a diver without a teammate turning around?
  3. Value without coordination. Does the kit work when nobody is on voice chat?
  4. Ultimate impact. Does the ultimate win or save a fight reliably, and how easily is it countered?
  5. Flexibility. How many maps and team compositions accept the pick without strain?

What the tiers mean:

  • S: fits almost any team and is rarely a wrong pick.
  • A: as strong as S in the right composition, noticeably weaker outside it.
  • B: works, but asks for a specific teammate, map or enemy lineup.
  • C: playable by a specialist; an equally skilled player gets more from a higher tier.

The tier table

Tier Hero Why it sits here
S Ana Biotic Grenade shuts down enemy healing and Sleep Dart stops a dive or an ultimate; Nano Boost is good on any teammate.
S Kiriko Protection Suzu cleanses the effects that lose fights, her teleport gets her out of trouble, and her ultimate speeds up a whole push.
S Juno Her speed ring lets the team start or leave a fight on its own terms, she heals from long range, and her ultimate heals and boosts damage at once.
A Lúcio The speed aura defines close-range compositions and Sound Barrier answers burst ultimates, but his healing alone will not hold a team up.
A Baptiste The most healing and damage in a single kit, plus Immortality Field; pays for it with no real escape.
A Brigitte The best protection for a backline under dive, and Rally makes the whole team harder to kill; she has little to do against long-range teams.
A Zenyatta Orb of Discord makes any tank melt and Transcendence cancels most area ultimates; he has no mobility and dies first to divers.
B Illari Her healing pylon frees her to duel with strong hitscan damage, but the pylon is easy to break and her ultimate is cleansed or blocked.
B Moira Survives almost anything and heals a grouped team very well, yet brings no utility beyond raw numbers.
B Mercy Damage boost on a strong damage hero and Resurrect are real value, but all of it depends on one teammate performing.
B Wuyang Guided water projectiles and a protective ultimate give him a high ceiling; he demands more mechanical attention than his rivals for similar results.
C Lifeweaver Life Grip and Petal Platform save teammates from mistakes, but low damage means he rarely turns a fight himself.

Picks by rank bracket

The same hero is worth different amounts depending on how your teammates play.

Bracket Reliable picks Reason
Bronze to Gold Moira, Kiriko, Baptiste, Lúcio Nobody peels for you, so heroes that escape or out-sustain a flanker keep you alive long enough to matter.
Platinum to Diamond Ana, Kiriko, Juno, Brigitte Teams begin to dive on purpose and to follow up on a slept or anti-healed target, so utility starts paying off.
Master and above Ana, Juno, Lúcio, Kiriko, Zenyatta Teammates play around speed, Discord and Nano Boost, which multiplies the value of tempo supports.

Ana is the hero most worth learning early even though she is punishing at low ranks: her aim and positioning habits carry over to every bracket.

Picks by team composition

  • Dive (Winston, D.Va, Wrecking Ball, Doomfist): Kiriko, Juno and Lúcio keep up with the tank; Zenyatta works if his Discord target is called; Ana brings Nano Boost for the engage.
  • Brawl (Reinhardt, Ramattra, Junker Queen, Mauga): Lúcio or Juno for speed, paired with a high-output healer such as Kiriko, Baptiste or Ana.
  • Poke (Sigma and long sightlines): Baptiste, Zenyatta, Illari and Ana all add damage from range while healing.
  • Around a flyer (Pharah, Echo): Mercy if that player is carrying, otherwise Ana or Baptiste, who can heal upward and shoot the enemy flyers.
  • Against heavy dive: Brigitte plus one of Ana, Kiriko or Baptiste.

Pairings

A healthy duo is one high-output healer (Ana, Baptiste, Kiriko, Moira) plus one tempo or utility support (Lúcio, Juno, Zenyatta, Brigitte, Mercy).

Pair Why it works Watch out for
Ana + Kiriko Suzu covers Ana’s lack of escape and cleanses an enemy grenade; two fight-winning cooldowns. No speed boost for a slow tank.
Ana + Brigitte Brigitte stands next to Ana and punishes whoever jumps her. Little reach onto flanking teammates.
Ana + Lúcio Speed into a Nano Boosted tank is the classic brawl engage. Lúcio must drop back to peel when Ana is dived.
Baptiste + Lúcio Baptiste’s output covers Lúcio’s low healing; both survive well. No cleanse against anti-heal.
Kiriko + Juno Both mobile, both speed the team up; excellent with dive tanks. Two long-cooldown saves; mistimed, nothing is left.
Zenyatta + Brigitte Brigitte guards the hero that divers want most. Low healing in long poke fights.
Zenyatta + Lúcio High damage and tempo. Lowest sustained healing of any duo; avoid unless the team is coordinated.

When to swap

Run through this list after two lost fights, not after one:

  • Dying first to a flanker every fight: move to Kiriko, Moira or Brigitte.
  • The enemy tank will not die: Ana for anti-heal or Zenyatta for Discord.
  • Your team keeps losing to one status effect (anti-heal, a hook, a freeze): Kiriko.
  • Your tank cannot reach the fight: Lúcio or Juno.
  • Both supports are low-output: one of you takes Ana, Baptiste or Kiriko.
